Does the job good for me

I don't use a bar cushion, but my clients do, and they have liked this one a lot. It fits more snuggly on the bar than some I've had, and the velcro closure is grippy. As a result, the pad mostly stays where positioned (rather than spinning to where the closure winds up under the bar, letting it slip back directly onto your shoulders and eliminating any value). It's different from most other pads I've had over the years, as it has a vinyl (I assume) cover rather than a fabric one. I don't like…

Pros
  • Extra thick padding offers superior comfort and support
Cons
  • The pad may be too thick for some exercises

Great price and works well.

Quality appears to be very good. I have other products from Dark Iron and all have been very good quality. I low bar squat and get very sore were the bar contact in the pocket of my shoulders. This squat pad works great. Not too thick as to drastically change bar position. Provides just enough padding for comfort but still giving some feel of the bar.

Pros
  • Quick and efficient
Cons
  • Extra thickness may make it difficult to balance the barbell during exercises

Top notch pad on my review.

Wonderful barbell pad for my Olympic sized bar. Previously had a foam type that has an indentation for the neck and it pops onto the bar. Compared to that this is SO much better. I like that it doesn't have that indentation (the non indented parts on the sides actually pushed my head forward a bit), the material is firmer which I much prefer - with heavier weights the softer foam basically doesn't pad much anymore, and it holds much tighter to the bar so it doesn't move off center between sets…

Pros
  • Can be used for a range of exercises, such as squats, lunges, and hip thrusts
Cons
  • The pad may not be suitable for powerlifting exercises

Great Pad! for my opinion

Pad is a quality piece of equipment. Thick vinyl cover with sturdy velcro that keeps pad secure to the bar. No regrets with this purchase.

Pros
  • Excellent quality and really worth the price, very confortable!
Cons
  • May feel bulky and uncomfortable during use

Grabs the bar well-

Been using this for a while, the full length velcro fits a standard barbell well and stays locked. Padding is dense and doesn't compress too much. The pad does tend to rotate so the closure/seam is on the bottom, but that's hard to avoid given the situation, and the padding is dense enough that it still provides support in that position. Surface is very durable and easy to clean as well.

Pros
  • Made from high-quality materials for durability and longevity
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with sensitive skin

exactly what i needed

I use this pad for back squats and hip thrusters. I like the firmness of the pad. It feels like it will last along time. It slides nicely onto the barbell and the velcro connection is easy and quick. I wish they had offered an option without a corny saying, AS that caused me a few moments of pause before buying, but that does not detract from the value of the product.

Pros
  • Promotes healthy and safe workout habits
Cons
  • The pad may not provide enough stability during explosive exercises

Perfectly designed best in my review

My son squats 315x10 with this, he says it is the perfect thickness and perfect firmness (not too hard, not too soft) Too thin to use for hip thrusts, uncomfortable!

Pros
  • A little to say here. It does its job.
Cons
  • Too thin to use for hip thrusts, uncomfortable

Comfortable on my review.

The only thing I would add as an improve is to make it able to adjust tighter. There isn't much velcro and there's always a little bit of material stretch after a few uses.

Pros
  • The durable design withstands even the toughest workout routines
Cons
  • May add unnecessary bulk to the gym bag

Best barbell pad EVER!

I just used this for the first time today and OMG IT WAS AMAZING! It offered so much padding that I was able to add more weight to my squats and hip thrusts. The quality of this is top notch. The pad is hard but very comfortable on my shoulders/neck and pelvis. The nylon material on the outside is thick and super durable. It fits nicely in my small gym bag. The only thing that's a negative for me is that it barely fits around the smith machine barbell. It did fit, but I had to pull it really…

Pros
  • Exercise & Fitness
Cons
  • May cause the bar to dig into the neck or shoulders, making it painful to lift

Almost perfect best in my review

Does not fit snugly on my Bowflex barbell. Needs a wider strip of velcro to adjust for thinner bars. Hopefully they can update in the future.

Pros
  • The product is AMAZING! Perfect for t
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people who prefer a firmer surface to lift on

Well made and versatile

This bar neck pad is exactly what I was looking for. I mix up workouts, so when I am doing barbell complexes the pad stays in place when switching from overhead press to back squat. I had initially purchased one of the many popular pads that required no straps or Velcro. The problem was these could pop off in middle of a workout. The Velcro closure on the Dark Iron Fitness pad keeps the pad exactly where it is needed, the product has a nice fit and finish and is comfortable. This provides me…

Pros
  • STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD: Choose one of several custom designs with motivational slogans. A refreshing twist on boring, generic-looking barbell pads! Sleek black background color
Cons
  • May not enhance lifting performance as advertised
