This light is perfect for illuminating a small aquarium like my 4 gallon glass aquarium. The light fits snugly into the frameless glass of my aquarium and emits a lot of light. This is a good enough light, but don't be fooled by claims that these are specialty lamps that outperform similar lamps. I ordered this "DaToo" lamp for $14.79 and the same one from "Lemonbest" for $10.99. Both arrived today and they are exactly the same. They were packaged in the same box, had the same label, and are both Lemonbest branded. The only difference is that this item costs $4 more, which is almost 40% more for a $10.99 product. Don't overspend on this item.

I had this in a 10 gallon snail and rooster aquarium for several months. The mounting base doesn't match the edges of the tank, too small, but I have a clear glass lid on the tank and I just place it right on top. The light will illuminate most of the 10 gallon tank, but not all. 5 gallons or less would be ideal for this fixture, which also typically has thinner glass edges. Whilst this is a high quality lantern it is not suitable for rimmed aquariums. I bought these to replace the light bulbs on our 2 PetSmart 5.5 gallon front split tanks that blew out after a few years. However, these lights will not fit these rimmed tanks. So I put this on my 1 gallon fighting cube and the light itself is good, not too bright for a fighting fish, not too dark for detail, and overall this part is very good.
