Bought 2 for the boat. One didn't last.

Bought 2 for a boat. One didn't last as long as expected and has already had to be replaced due to its inability to charge the battery.

Make sure the pulley is the same size as you own.

It came with a pulley but didn't fit mine. Didn't get it until they installed it but the strap didn't fit. An inconvenient place to remove and replace with the old one. So far it has been working as it should for more than a month.

Not for Mercruiser 5.0 MPI

Claimed to fit Mercruiser 5.0 MPI but do not buy if that is what you are replacing. The pulley is significantly larger (which you can get working by lowering the tensioner all the way down), but the pulley is misaligned and will completely destroy your serpentine belt. Go to the OEM if you need to replace the alternator.

Great product - difficult to install

Fits perfectly on my Chevy 4.3 block Bayliner. Appears to be of good quality. The replacement was tricky, but that's not because of the parts, it's because of the design of the ship's engine. I would recommend this to a friend and buy it again, hopefully for another boat and not to replace this one again.

Cheap but easy to rust

Replaces OEM directly. Works fine but I had a pinpoint leak in the raw water hose that this generator was spraying. A week later it was as rusty as if it was 8 years old and was found on the beach, my old OEM side was painted a little thick paint and held up to the salt spray. Well, if your grip is dry and you're a curmudgeon like me.

Good quality alternator fits snugly on Mercruiser 5.0

Fits snugly on my 2001 Bayliner Capri with 5.0 Mercruiser V-8. Good anti-corrosion coating on the body and components. shipping fast. It even came with a lab test report showing the charge curve and output voltage/amps. You won't find an alternator this good at this price at your local parts store. It's nice to find a place that doesn't overload the ship's electrical parts.
