Connects easily to a Dell laptop and works great

Delivered next day. As advertised, the new Dell D3000 USB 3.0 docking station. Connects easily to a Dell laptop and works great. I downloaded the updated Displaylink drivers (http://www.displaylink.com/support/downloads.php) to set it up (download and install the drivers before connecting the dock to the laptop for the first time connect). You connect a network cable, monitor cable (1 DVI, 1 HDMI), speaker/mic cable, wireless KB/mouse, other USB devices, etc. to it, and then plug the included…

does what it should; just a little fiddly to set up.

I have a Dell 3440 laptop and this helps port replicator. It's a little disheartening that laptops have gotten rid of the bottom docking station and are forced to use it with the USB cable and power cord plugged in to keep the charge going. I just feel that with the number of "docks" and connections between home and office, the power connector on the laptop is getting worn out. Basically, the device works perfectly. It was a bit difficult to set up the monitors the way I wanted; as it works as…

Still works great a year and a half later

I bought this for my Dell Inspiron 5378 i7-7500U. I use this laptop daily, 10 hours a day. Since I've had the laptop, I've unplugged it at least once a day. Initially, I was bothered by the frequent plugging and unplugging of the USB-A port on my laptop, as well as the DC adapter. Of course it would be better to link like the old docking stations, but over time you get used to just two plugins. Having a dual monitor is very important, and I was particularly concerned about wear and tear on the…

I've been using the docking station for a month now and it works very well. The only downside is that my laptop has to stay open or the computer goes to sleep, but that's most likely because my computer wasn't specifically designed to be used with a docking station like other Dell laptops. Be sure to check the Dell website to see if there is a docking station for your particular laptop. This docking station connects to a USB port and is designed for use with non-docking computers. If there is a

1 and some bad BIOS implementations for laptops

There are some strange issues with the Renesas USB 3.0 drivers that ship with Windows 8 and Windows 8.1, as well as some poor BIOS implementations for laptops. Basically the dock doesn't show up at boot and the monitors connected to it are dead. The fix was simple, however the Renesas drivers (designed for Windows 7) work great as stated in the FAQ section of the DisplayLink website. and laptop panel at 1600x900) if you're using a laptop with HDMI and connecting the dock via HDMI or DVI…

It's really my fault for not doing more research.

It's really my own fault for not researching this further, but for the most part this docking station isn't good. You still have to connect almost the same number of cables when using the dock as you would without, which pretty much defeats the purpose. The only connection between the station and the laptop is via USB, which means you still need to plug in a power cord (and need a power cord wherever you want to connect). Because the display runs over USB, your computer suffers a performance…

Happy with the purchase.

I bought this to use with a Dell Latitude 3440. It worked as advertised, with the only issue being that I had to update the Intel USB drivers, which for some reason took a lot longer than expected. In general I like the product. The Latitude 3440 doesn't have a dock connector, which allows me to have audio, ethernet, three displays (two external and one internal), and a wireless keyboard and mouse by just plugging in two cables (power and USB 3.0). It's not as easy as clicking the dock, but…

Works great on multiple monitors!

I have a Dell Inspiron 17R laptop that I have previously used for travel and remote work. When my home computer died, I decided I didn't want to bother setting up another computer. I've used multiple monitors before and didn't want to go back to the single monitor situation. The Dell SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Dock is perfect for me as it allows you to place your laptop at the side of your desk, connect both monitors, USB mouse/keyboard, connect audio jacks, etc. It worked like a charm for that works…

everything ok, nothing special

I wish I had known beforehand that you have to power the laptop from your own power supply as well. One would think a docking station power supply would cover this function.
