Dell Replacement Adapter Inspiron AA45NM131 Review

I have a Dell XPS 13 (9333) that is 1 1/2 years old and out of warranty. I suddenly got a message that my laptop does not recognize the charger. It will still power the laptop when plugged in, but will no longer charge the battery. There was no visible damage to the charger. I tried spraying some detox on the contacts but that didn't help. I've had three of these chargers in all and they kept breaking. The last lasted four months. Total waste of money, will not buy a Dell laptop again never to have this problem again.

. Fits my L321X and charges normally. Unlike the original charger, this one was actually made with the cord wrapped around it, which I really like. Hopefully the center pin of the "DRM charger" is more reliable on these new models and I don't have to replace it after a year.

My original adapter was "plugged in, not charging" and when I called Dell they wanted to charge me $120 for an "upgrade" to fix the problem. I decided to buy this to watch and voila it was an adapter. It charges my laptop perfectly. Very worthy for a reasonable price!

Worked great - I left my charger with relatives and bought an expensive "universal" from Best Buy - although the attachment fit and was rated for Dell it didn't work. This worked great, was a lot cheaper than Best Buy's defective one, and arrived quickly.

Original adapter of the same design, failed after a year. This exchange failed after 5 weeks. They get excited and gradually give up. You constantly think there is something wrong with your outlet. I've been looking for an alternative but regardless of provider or price, it's still the same crap as up to 14% of reviewers report early rejection.

A little less than a year it works perfectly. Wear and tear seems to be the main issue in my scenario. The cord gets kinked in places when I wrap it around the charger like in the photos and then after a while it stops working. Look, the power cord either works or it doesn't. BUT, the outer case ripped when I took it on a business trip. I've had it for 2 years and don't wrap/bend the wire often (I have 2 of these: one for the home office, one for the work office). I've seen this with cheap cell phone chargers, for example, but never with laptop charging! The lower cable housings are okay (I can see them), but it's disappointing to say the least.
