I got this a while back and just put it in a cage with macaws this week. Chewed on top of the wooden branch and it gave off a very fragrant chemical smell, similar to menthol! DO NOT USE THEM as this will kill the birds. I was at home and found out pretty quickly where the smell was coming from. Gave me a terrible migraine and I threw it outside. I had to open the windows and turn on the fans for a while to clean the air.

Great toy. It's big and very durable. I am having a very hard time finding quality toys for my Harlequin Macaw. Usually she destroys them in minutes, but this time it took her more than a week and there is still some left. The wooden parts are smaller but very strong. First thing I'll tell you is replace the clip for hanging, it's very cheap and my macaws broke them in less than 1 minute. and he had a little bit for them to choke on. I have a blue-throated macaw, it's smaller than most other large macaws. This toy was gone in an hour or two, the wood is cheap and easy to ruin don't get me wrong she loved it but for the price I hope it would take her a day or two to get to grips with it . Personally, I wouldn't order it again due to its short lifespan. However, if you are looking for a fun toy to play with during the day, this is a good choice. This is definitely a cheap toy, I bought the half size for my U2 and he loved it. However, this one cost twice as much and took less time. The wood is very soft and breaks into small pieces that fall right through the bars of his cage, so he can't even chew on the pieces after jumping out of a block.
