I bought this for my wife after looking at other models and some didn't have adjustable heat (why wouldn't you want that?) and this model was wider than many as well. Since we bought this panini press a month ago we have used it many, many times. The press heats up very quickly and prepares a sandwich in a few minutes. This particular machine can be used to cook meat, but I haven't tried raw meat with it. I bought it in 2016 and use it from steaks to toast. I do not recommend the former. Only suitable for panini or cuban pancakes. Pros: heats up quickly.
