Review on DeLonghi CGH800 Contact Grill Panini by Ashley Ray

The power cord gets hot!

Don't get me wrong I've tried several panini presses and in terms of making a panini this is probably the best. HOWEVER, basic security is severely lacking. First, there is no ON/OFF switch. You need to plug it into the wall and unplug it. This is a big problem for me, but I've been living with it for 5 years now. sometimes returning home to verify that I really disconnected the machine from the network. But the downside, which is the biggest for me, is that the power cord started to heat up dramatically without even touching the machine's hot surfaces. So I throw that thing away and get something else. Then of course the fact that you can't remove the teflon parts to clean them is another disappointment, that would be fine for a $35 press but not for a $70 press.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • No instructions
