🛁 Delta U1075-PB-PK Diverter Tub Spout in Polished Brass, 0.5 Inch Review

Coating fell off after less than two months of use. It was installed in a garden shed and hardly used. Very disappointed!

We've only had this installed in a guest bathroom for about two years (and hardly anyone uses it) and after just two to three weeks of use the whole brass look finish is a failure. Very disappointed with this Delta product.

I have 1/2" copper tubing so I used a push-in fitting. The instructions state that you cut off the end of the plastic adapter that screws into the actual spout next to the tip, and if you're not careful to cut off this part with a hacksaw you could damage the threads and render it unusable. I had a hard time assembling it with no leaks.

This was an easy exchange and a perfect fit, replacing an old unit with a faulty control valve. Includes teflon tape and key tool. Good device, did this job in 4 minutes. We recommend. Updated on 6/6/2016. I ordered a second one for another bath. Just like the first one (which still works great), this one fits perfectly and works great. Many adapters, fittings, etc. are included if you have unusual installation needs.

The spout itself looks nice and doesn't leak when placed in the shower. The plastic adapter was versatile in the sense that it had enough nozzles to fit almost any pipe you already had, but being plastic it wasn't particularly strong. I ended up going to a hardware store to buy a brass 3/4 to 1/2 adapter and a 2 inch brass nipple, but it was still better and cheaper than all the other options.

The overhang is about 1/4 inch less than the original so it does not fit flush with my existing pipe on the wall. This is negligible since no water flows in this part of the faucet anyway. If it bothered me I would remove my original whistle and put in a shorter piece. It was easy to install and matched my existing pipe perfectly. Teflon tape came with it so I don't need to bring mine. The diverter works well. There are no leaks. It took me longer to look at the instructions than to install it.

I needed a threaded type next to the diverter (at the end of the spout). This product included silicone piping tape and it was easy for me to install. There was an adapter that moved the threads back to the end of the wall if you only have a short pipe sticking out of the wall. You can also consider buying a pad that will take up the space between the spout and the wall. This product works as expected but is more difficult to install as it is universal. On the Delta Sliding Diverter, I swapped out the o-rings a few inches from the wall, and the screw that holds the diverter to the tube is near the wall. The builder tightened the clamp screw, a dent in the copper pipe. With this universal switch, a small brass fitting contains an O-ring and clamps for a copper tube that is pressed against the wall.
