Ok carburetor except for a few problems

I like the simplicity of the carburetor, I have it set to 454 and the problem is I have adjusted the choke several times and can't get it working, and after the car warms up, it's not always easy to start, sometimes you have to press the pedal to the floor.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Not happy with everything

Great street carb!

I love this carburetor! The engine started easily and the carburettor only needed minor adjustments. Runs very well at idle, no hesitation. The cam I use in the new small block 383 barely matches the specs in the carburetor manuals so I was a little worried about idle and idle, but it works very well in both.

Pros
  • Carburetor
Cons
  • Useless functions

cool out of the box

Wow, carb no problem. I tried a Holley Sniper EFI and was so disappointed that I decided to convert a 392 Hemi to a carburetor in a 1957 Imperial. Coiled straight out of the box, nothing touched. The engine purred constantly and reached temperature with no problems. Haven't ridden it yet but judging by the handling out of the box I'm sure it will be fine with a little tweaking.

The only thing I didn't like was that they don't even give a kit.

I don't give many five stars but this one is close. The only thing I didn't like was that they didn't even provide a setup kit. It cost an extra $70. So be prepared to shell out some extra cash. I installed it on my Dodge 440 and figured I could just use the same bolt that was on my holly for the gearbox. But roughly speaking it didn't fit, and it had to be modified to make it work. If you have a Dodge, simply purchase the gear screw that comes with this carburetor. In terms of tuning this was…
