Replaced the sensor and the NEW one was bad too!

Had to replace all O2 sensors on my 2006 GS300 but was still getting some codes and was told an ECU update was needed as the new O2 sensors read correctly. I did it and still had problems afterwards. After spending $1500 I discovered that one of these two sensors was initially bad and "rotten" and was actually causing some of my problems. So I had to do some tests at the store and then replace the sensor and now no problem. The crappy part for me, I was after a 1 month return policy and now I'm

Pros
  • High precision; Thread diameter: 18mm
Cons
  • Expensive

I couldn't replace them myself but when I took them to my mechanic he asked if they had connectors. He was glad he didn't have to splice wires and remove old sensors. Now I wasn't getting any engine codes from my old sensors, but they had over 500,000 miles on them so I figured there wouldn't hurt to replace them. Not only was my guess right, I was shocked at the performance gain. I was afraid the engine was running rich, but it was actually running lean. And I haven't lost a single power gainโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Made of durable material
Cons
  • Only available in white

Front Sensor for 2005 Tundra 4.7L V8

I had one of my catalytic converters (passenger side) stolen from my 05 Tundra 4.7 V8. The muffler shop only replaced the missing cat and the connected lambda probe. My check engine light came on because the old air/fuel ratio sensor was original and the O2 sensor was too new. So the computer detected a leak between the front sensor and the oxygen sensor on the same side. I decided to swap out the remaining 3 sensors to restore their speed. After that you can feel the difference the new sensors

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • Bad Impression

2006 Tacoma Manuals with DTC P0051

Local Toyota dealership charged $280. It was less than half the price. The air/fuel ratio sensor arrived two days later. A check engine light came on on my 2006 Toyota Tacoma V6. The code was P0051. My code reader said: Air/Fuel Ratio Sensor (Bank 2 Sensor 1) Low input. For Toyota, bank 2 means driver's side and sensor 1 means in front of the catalytic converter. Bank one is the passenger side and the second sensor is after the catalytic converter. My car has four sensors. I sprayed the sensorโ€ฆ
