Looks lovely and would be a great addition to the 'park scene' in our village. These lights aren't as fancy as some downtown lights, which is what we wanted. They're whimsical enough to be used for downtown lighting, but unassuming enough for a park scene. Like all Dept 56 items they are very beautiful and of good quality.

Love the look. The lamp's yellow light is not too bright, but dimmed to match the scenes. However, they do NOT illuminate the area/house/stage. Think of them as accents. I bought these street lights for my Christmas Village thinking they would make a great addition to my home. I had problems from the start. First of all, it took almost 40 minutes to put C size batteries in the battery compartment. When I finally installed them, I breathed a sigh of relief and started placing my streetlights.
