    Vintage look awakens the senses

    Just like my grandmother did 80 years ago and probably a lot longer. The top is thin and will likely rust quickly. Salt and pepper aren't coming out as quickly as we'd like. The bottom is great but the top needs a little more support.

    Slight modification

    They are definitely as nice and thick as can be. However, the holes are too small. I took an awl and made it bigger. Of course, the top isn't smooth now, but after a few shakes, at least the salt and pepper will come out.

    Not the color they seem.

    Return. In the photo they are light green, very similar to depression glass. When I received them I was so disappointed that they are dark green. I don't understand why things are not like in the pictures. Dissatisfied.

    But look fantastic.

    These shakers look fantastic. Large and comfortable to hold. However, the holes in the top of the shakers are too small even for finely ground salt and pepper. So I used a nail and hammer to enlarge the holes. The tips are dented now, but the salt and pepper will spill out much more easily.

    Perfect Accent Best in Kitchenware & Gadgets

    Very pleased with these green glass salt and pepper shakers. They are well made and very solid. The engraving is deep and the color is subtle, not bright like some I've seen. They work fine; easy to fill and salt and pepper flow just right: they are practical and decorative at the same time. Overall this is a quality set and looks so good in our new kitchen!

    Holes and Color

    I agree with all the other reviews that the holes are too small but it's easy to fix with an awl so they don't ruin me. However, the set I received is a much darker green than the photos suggest, so there appears to be some quality control inconsistencies. I specifically ordered them because I wanted a bright lime green and they look more like a deep emerald so I'm disappointed in that aspect.

    Thought they might be too big I felt they were the perfect size for both use and looks. Each, when full, would contain a cup (yes, a full 1-cup measure) of salt/pepper. They are a beautiful green color with salt and pepper embossing in the style of the 1930's Great Depression era, as in the photo. They clean well and contrary to what others have said, the stainless steel lids pass salt or pepper well on mine. * Helpful Tip: Putting a few grains of uncooked rice in the salt shaker will absorb…

    Holds a lot -- Very attractive

    This is a great S&P set, very attractive green jar with stainless steel lids and a very large volume. I keep them on a shelf above the hob for quick use when cooking. However, keep in mind that the lids of both shakers have equally sized holes - good if you're using finely ground paprika, not so good if you're using coarsely ground paprika (like me). About 10 minutes with a properly sized drill solved the problem. Otherwise there are no complaints. You can see the level through the clear glass.

    The product was dispatched quickly and has adequate packaging to protect the items. Love, love, love, depressed green glass. These salt and pepper shakers are large. Please note this. I wanted them to be big because I have rheumatoid arthritis. I find it difficult to pick up small objects. So I guess their size.
