Something is wrong here

I bought these hinges to replace a linen closet door that opened and closed perfectly on the old hinges (the bathroom was renovated with brushed nickel). While the new hinges fit perfectly in the hinge pockets, the door now won't close and I broke part of the door frame trying to close it. I've tried deepening the hinged pockets but the door still won't close properly and now it looks like a beaver chewed on my hinged pockets! It's too late to send them back and get the others, I have to try…

Pros
  • Includes mounting screws
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

You look great until you try to close the door.

I remodeled my bathroom with brushed nickel/satin nickel fixtures. I replaced the old badly rusted brass hinges with this satin nickel set. The hinges felt strong and looked great. until you try to close the door. What used to be a perfectly functioning door now cannot be closed (or opened) without great effort. The door clings to the jamb. For the few bucks they cost it's not worth modifying the whole door - I'm just buying a new kit from a reputable brand to put the door back in line with how

Pros
  • (3) 3.5" Door Hinges with (6) Holes
Cons
  • High Price

Good for the price, beginners and handymen go to Lowes/Home Depot

I am a full time contractor, trying to save a few cents and had to order a few other items I decided to to try these. There are some quality control issues here: the holes don't line up properly, causing the once-perfect-closing door to rub against the jamb after installation. I was able to get it working with some tweaking, but some of you who do chores and carpentry on the weekends might have a hard time. Save time and spend a few extra pennies and buy hinges from your local hardware store…

Pros
  • Steel structure for use on front doors
Cons
  • Not sure
