Simple Home Radon Detector

Radon Guard is a battery operated home radon detector that allows you to determine the radon levels in your home. The traditional radon gas analysis kit needs to be sent to a lab for results, but this eliminates the same. The device comes in a simple shipping carton. It contains a pad, instructions, a quality test certificate and a sticker with a documented radon value. The device requires 2 AA batteries and is not supplied with the device. Once the battery is installed, it will calibrate andโ€ฆ

Totally Inaccurate - DO NOT BUY AND BELIEVE THE RESULTS

I ran a 48 hour test on this unit in a one story house in Florida and got a score of 4.1. Since I doubted the accuracy of this result, I ran a second 48-hour test in parallel with the passive activated carbon test to compare the readings. The device again showed 4.1, while the laboratory test results returned to 0.7. I was pretty sure this unit was junk so I reinstalled it and left it on a shaded outdoor porch for 48 hours, a place where radon levels would definitely be lower than indoors. Theโ€ฆ

Replaced old power supply.

At first I was very concerned when I first installed the unit. The instructions were pretty clear but didn't say you need more than 7 days for the device to acclimate in the room. In the box was a card showing how to understand the numbers. This device showed more than 4.+ almost 5, which is in the danger zone, but after more than 7 days of tuning. All readings are taken and are still falling daily. Figure 1 is the 7th day and Figure 2 is the total day above and the day below. I'm glad Radon is

Useless and potentially life threatening

I have purchased 2 charcoal based radon tests and this permanent electronic meter. Both charcoal tests gave readings of >>15, while Elifecity gave a continuous reading of 1.08 to a maximum of 4.2, with most readings in the 2.0 range, which is normal. A professional licensed tester came to see which test was wrong. The tester returned a 3 day reading of 14-26 with a 72 hour average of 20! If we were solely relying on this electronic device, we would not be trying to lower radon levels andโ€ฆ
