DEWALT DCL074 All Purpose Light Tool Review

This product is expensive and LEDs are known for their high efficiency. I am using a Flexvolt 60/20 6 amp battery and the battery discharges to zero in less than an hour. To make matters worse, this thing on me starts blinking for 5 minutes before it kicks off. I can make 60 cuts in wood with one of these batteries in my chainsaw, but I can't light a room for an hour. I don't understand why the light doesn't last longer.

Really well-designed light, excellent brightness. The battery life of 4 or 5 amps is about 2 hours. With 9A battery about 4-5 hours. Always use it at full brightness. What this light does best is with a 120v outlet. The buzzing is driving me crazy, I have 2, they both buzz, my friend has one too and it buzzes too. I think the hum is related to the noise of the switching power supply. It's particularly loud when using low to medium settings.

I haven't had this light for over a few weeks and have used it under the hood of 2 cars to see under the hood and to light up half my shed when the door derails in the night. It's a lot easier than using a couple of my hand lamps and does a great job of illuminating a large area. The 6Ah batteries seem to be draining quicker than expected, although I haven't had a single full drain yet. The light works well, the light is very generous and very comfortable. What strikes me is this in the warnings section of the manual; it means avoiding exposure to light rain or snow. External protection class IP54. This means the degree of protection against the ingress of dust and water. (Water ingress: resists splashing water). So if like me you have some Dewalt tools, you probably also have some Dewalt batteries. The tools were used intermittently so most of the time the batteries just sat dormant on my shelf.
