Heavy-duty, heat-treated shank for protection against bends and breaks. Optimized cutting groove for fast chip removal. Chamfered corners for durability against nail impacts. Paddle hole for easy wire pulling and bit storage. 1/4" Ball groove shank allows for quick bit changes.
After drilling four holes in 12" plain wood, the wings (spurs?) are blunt enough not to cut through wood cut. I'm giving it two stars because it can probably be sharpened but it should have lasted longer.
I was running new wiring around my house and often had to try to get the wire down from the attic. This is great for hooking up to my speedy impact wrench and long enough to get from the attic to the stud box.
Better than the picture, it's black and has a corner on the outside edge. This is not the case with my other blades. Slice through a nearly solid wooden wall like butter in seconds. I think I laughed at how easy it was and how much firewood flew out. I had issues with other bits and paddles, maybe they were a bit boring.
