🔪 Freud DS005SC Diablo Carbide Reciprocating Saw Blade Set - 5 Piece Review

You must be very careful not to pinch the saw blade or allow the work piece to move at all as the teeth are very brittle and will break if they do. Ultimately they are not as economical as bi-metal blades as this is a saw and it is normal for the blades to jam from time to time as you work.

Two thick metal cutting blades cost almost as much separately as the whole set, plus a very good blade holder to boot. I have used dozens of brands of saber saw blades and NONE of them beats these Diablo carbides. .Just take them and don't look back. They literally made bimetal blades non-existent for my use.kd

These really last a very long time. Whenever I saw HD carbon blades, I ignored them and bought the cheaper ones. I hook up electricity to the apartments, and when I box (especially in the kitchen) I have to create lots of shelving and brackets to make the boxes look exactly how the prints require. . A traditional blade I would go through in a day. They can last more than 2 weeks with intensive use.

Assuming the carbide is heat resistant which I haven't used very much yet but they seem better than the first gen for the price I think they're a good deal. just as well, but I'll still box mine individually because I don't think the carbide blades will bounce and rub against each other every time I hit a bump or move my tool bag - that's very responsible use of new blades.

I've only tried the 6" demo so far, but it was one of the slowest blades I've compared it to. Cut 3 inch branches with a Milwaukee Orbital Super Sawzall in Orbital, Bosch demolition was fastest, then Milwaukee Axe, then Milwaukee Wrecker. Even a cheap old fashioned blade from the 1970's was faster than the Demo Demon! The only knife that was slower was the pruning knife. The Demo Demon cover also stank as it wore off. Since box springs sit well on high carbon steel, they will dull the drill bit in just a second or two!
