terrible ophthalmoscope

The light on this ophthalmoscope is blinding, and cannot be adjusted. It is absolutely impossible to see the retina or the disc. The pupils constrict very much and the patients complain a lot. I tried it on family members and let colleagues try it on me. It is unfair to use it on anyone.I am spending more money and buying a better ophthalmoscope. The otoscope is fine.

Pros
  • Easy to use, even for beginners
Cons
  • The set may cause eye strain or discomfort for medical professionals during extended use

Poor lens in both devices.

Don’t waste your time, you won’t be able to see the optic disc, cone, fovea or macula. You will get to see the TM. Very poor lens quality.

Pros
  • Everything is good
Cons
  • The replaceable light does not work.

works well good for me

I bought this item because I worked with a guy that had one of the same brand and I liked the way the units work and I do not like to buy thing made in Asia if at all possible. This one was made in bahrain and the one my coworker had was made inGermany. I am plaese with the one I have but wish it was German made.

Pros
  • OPHTHALMASCOPE FEATURES: five aperture selections (small spot, large spot, semicircle, fixed and red-free filter); 19 viewing lenses from -20 to +20 diopters for better resolution;illuminated magnified lens dial; rubber brow rest; and xenon lamp.
Cons
  • The set is heavy, making it difficult to carry around for long periods

Ophtalmoscope bad function

I've bought a new one and it simply did not work. Because an probable optical disalignment it was impossible to see retina vessels, optical disk, etc. Waste of money.

Pros
  • glitters
Cons
  • The Xenon lamp is not as bright as LED lamps, which are becoming the standard in medical equipment

Doesn't work for insufflation

It's good except it doesn't do insufflation even though it has the port. I bought an insufflation bulb separately from Welch Allen which fits the port on the side of the otoscope fine except the otoscope is about as airtight as my ex-girlfriend, whom was a very promiscuous and flatulent woman. The lens on the otoscope rotates around and is not securely affixed so no matter how vigorously you try, air will not blow into the ear canal.

Pros
  • Two diagnostic tools in one set for added value
Cons
  • The set is not suitable for use on large animals such as horses or cows

great value on my review.

best of many worlds!if you buy a C battery handle oto/optho - you will not use it because you can't possibly carry it around in your pockets with everything else.an AA battery handle oto/optho is the way to go! but which one? there are so many! This one is GREAT, just used it for our ENT tutorials today and it works great - also it is a good price! yes - you can get some oto/opthos for less but those aren't ones that you can carry around so easily. And yes you can pay $700 for a fancy one - but…

Pros
  • OTOSCOPE FEATURES: fiber optics for cool, obstruction-free light transmission; 2.5V xenon lamp for brighter, whiter light.
Cons
  • The set requires frequent cleaning and maintenance to prevent bacterial infections

GeorgiaLady on my review.

Bought these to take out of the country for a medial mission. The size and quality are well worth price. They worked consistently and well.

Pros
  • Pocket size makes it ideal for travel or home use
Cons
  • The bulbs on the set may need to be replaced often, leading to additional costs for users
