🌡️ Calibrated Digi-Sense Traceable Remote-Monitoring Thermocouple Thermometer (Fahrenheit) Review

I keep a couple of these in the electronics lab to monitor the temperature of things during testing. Very simple and easy to use. Also suitable for grilling, as it turned out.

Very accurate and high quality product. Only the thermocouple is stuck from below, which makes vertical positioning almost impossible. Mine has been dropped a lot as I often have to position it vertically.

This device works exactly as described. I checked the calibration in freezing (ice bath at 32°F) and boiling (208°F at 1800 feet). In both cases the readings were accurate to within 1 or 2 degrees; well within specification. NIST traceability is a plus. What more can you ask for?

This thermometer was a little more expensive than some of the others, but it's very accurate and NIST traceable, so I bought it. The touch sensor that came with the kit turned out to be non-linear. Within 1 degree with several other thermometers at 70°F, but different by up to 3°F at 30°F. The calibration has not been divided into Low, Medium, High, so each corrective calibration is applicable to all temperature ranges. So, for example, you can correct 30°, but then 70° that were accurate would be wrong. Having purchased this product with its malleable standard, I am still looking for a reference to use on my other…
