💧 Dishwasher Valve W10648041: Efficient Fitting for Superior Performance Review

Great value and easy to repair Kenmore Elite Dishwasher. Be sure to use Teflon tape on all threads to prevent leaks! I also used a standard 1/2" (10-16mm) worm drive collar on the output side instead of the crappy spring collar that came with the unit.

Like everything here except it wasn't a problem with my dishwasher, it really was taking everything apart and spinning all the rotors and "fan" mechanisms as it turned out back to I'm running and I'm saying this because you bulbous people recommend doing this whenever you have a typical problem of low fill pressure and incomplete washing of all dishes.

Installed in a KitchenAid KUDS30IVBL3 which is claimed to match W10648041 in this part. The magnet was shorter than the original part. Had to use a grinder to cut the mounting plate to fit the connector. Rotating the solenoid to actuate the joint also didn't provide enough room. 5 watts for a new part compared to 7 watts for an original part.

I had no water when I started the dishwasher. I thought it was the water inlet valve. I ordered this and it was exactly what was on my KitchenAid. Unfortunately this did not solve the problem. It turned out to be the float switch which is cheaper and easier to replace. My advice is to buy both because if you're replacing the water inlet valve anyway, you might as well replace the float switch.

I ordered W10648041 and received an 'equivalent valve part' W11130744. Slightly shorter at the end of the solenoid, but no problem right? The shorter electromagnet placed the electrical connector flush against a metal bracket that had to be notched to allow the connector to be inserted. If I knew they would send me W11130744 I could order it myself from another supplier and save $7. I almost wanted to send it back and order again, but didn't.
