Efficient Stone for Sharpening

The DMT W8X diamond whetstone has been a great addition to my sharpening toolbox. Through trial and error, I found that this stone's grit surface is perfect for sharpening dull knives and blades in a short amount of time. The extra-coarse surface allows for fast stock removal without compromising on the quality or functionality of the blades. However, the downside is that it is quite expensive compared to other sharpening stones on the market. Overall, if you're looking for a professional-grade

Pros
  • Provides extremely efficient and quick sharpening for dull or damaged knives and tools
Cons
  • The extra coarse grit may create deep scratches on the blade surface

For those who have used these whetstones before, they know.

For those who have used these whetstones before, this is something you should know. You need that. For twenty years I've used them for everything from sharpening knives to microgrooving bathroom shower tiles. or bathroom paneling or countertop. I work as a general contractor and at least four of these bricks are in constant use.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
