The HDD docking station is not the best.

1. Instructions were only sent in German?2. Attaching a hard drive to pins is tedious at best. Bad design?3. The site is pretty much useless4. Get what you pay for.5. The product number of the TCC-S686 does not match the product number on the website.6. Pretty much useless product must waste my time on returns.7. It was included but not recommended.

Will not work with some Seagate IDE hard drives

Good SATA/IDE reader, fast and reads well. Bought because the IDE slot has a moveable 4-pin power connector to accommodate different IDE drive models. Unfortunately, the 4-pin connector is not suitable for all types of drives, such as. B. the Seagate ST32140A, since its 4-pin connector is much closer to the IDE connector than other types.

Which hard drive accessory

Tried with 7 HD, it only recognized 1 old IDE drive and none of the new SATA drives (WD, Seagate, Samsung). The software worked after downloading from their website once after installing after I closed it, it didn't come back to use again so it's useless. I have already packed it and will be sending it back. Also, as others have said, the power adapter plug doesn't fit properly and pulls off easily.

Terrible design for IDE power supply

This device has a "retractable" power connector for IDE drives. It sounds good in theory, BUT it's terrible. By the way, do we need to change the distance from the power adapter to the plug? Not all disks are roughly equidistant (I thought they were, but I could be wrong). In any case, this thing is awful trying to install the drive into the socket and then onto the pins of the connector. Terrible design.

Works great in hard drive cases

Works like a charm. I bought this to also read the old SATA drive I had. I originally bought another brand and it didn't work. He spotted the disc and opened it almost immediately. I also dug up a few other old IDE drives I had and it read them fine too. The instructions clearly state that some IDE drives require the metal cover to be removed in order for them to fit properly in the reader. Make sure you buy USB 2 or 3 depending on what your computer supports. If you buy a USB 3 reader and your

It's ok, but not very good

Installing 3.5 inch drives is a problem. The bottom four-pin power connector is spring-loaded (why everyone knows), making it very difficult to align and connect to the hard drive. The software is also very basic and buggy. I started Microsoft Windows 10 and I couldn't see the program after minimizing it. I had to launch Windows Program Manager to restart it. The instructions also leave a lot to be desired - poorly written. After some frustration with connecting a drive and reading software…

Pros
  • Robust construction
Cons
  • Reliability

Ideal for home use. Extremely easy to use. Just follow the instructions. I keep all my old hard drives. I migrated data from 5 old spindle hard drives and 2 solid state drives to a new computer. From there I transferred the data to a single 5TB external drive. You don't have to rely on the cloud to access your data. If the internet is switched off, this doesn't work. Store your data locally and create backups on this device. I professionally recommend using a Tccmebius hard drive docking…

Works great when you know what you're doing?

I ignored all the software/one touch backup features this thing came with. yes it is cheap But it works wonderfully. I wanted something that could handle both IDE and SATA drives (since I play on older machines too) and that ticked the box. For the price you absolutely can't do better. Even the IDE performs a quasi-hot swap if you flip the switch and first turn off the dock, plug in the drive, and then turn on the power. No drivers are needed and it works on both Linux and Windows. I don't know
