Medium size fits my very long and comfortably plump 16 lb cat. However, one day he didn't move. He just lays on his side and seems totally spooked by it. The first time I was rescued, I didn't care that he licked the seams after sterilization. But since my second rescue was very horny, I was very worried that he would not only lick but also chew on his stitches, so I went in search of something to fix it. A rescue friend of mine told me about cat pajamas or cat rescue suits and to my relief they were actually spelled out. Everything worked very well except for one. The closure at the neck is elastic with a sliding stopper. Do not overtighten or the cat will suffocate. After making it as tight as possible, let the cat escape anyway. She can tuck in her paw and then use it to stretch her neck enough (causing the slider to slip and the elastic to stretch) to slip out of her.
