My favorite blades at any price

I bought a Vikings Blade Chieftain razor when I decided to start shaving with a DE razor. I followed the general consensus and bought Feather Platinum blades. You are excellent, there are no two choices. And they are very sharp from the moment you put them on. I found that they can be a bit too aggressive for a beginner and while I don't suffer from sensitive skin and have a fairly stiff face, it's still prone to lacerations when exercising. I mean it's part of the game. In those early days I…

My Everyday Blade

No, they're not "trendy" or "cool", they're not overly expensive. These are only DE blades at a good price. Since 2009 I have been using Dorco DE blades as my standard safety razor blade. But on a business trip, I happened to be sitting next to one of Gillette's executives and asked him why their blades had become so expensive. He said their product took a billion…

  • So far so good

I've always found this particular model of blade to give excellent results. This is a very inexpensive blade that still gives a very close shave. I use a Qshave adjustable razor, usually set at a 4.5 or 5, and get a very close shave with no nicks. I use Proraso and Arco shaving soaps as well as a few others and get a very close and close shave. The blade is both sharp and soft if you press too hard. I have a very thick beard but I can get 4 very good shaves with each blade. That means a pack of
