Put the cap in. Fits aftermarket

I've had 3 of these and 2 have failed (do you like overheating on the George Washington Bridge en route to Newark Airport?!). The third was an amulet. Cursed voodoo amulet. overheating! Seams, the thread is corroded, creating a gap between the tank and the original cover. I tried a new cap (AC DELCO) and luckily it worked. Now it's a perfectly sealed system that runs cool even on a summer's day in traffic

Problem with low coolant level sensor

I had a problem with the low coolant level sensor. Pulled straight out of the device. The original GM didn't. I noticed this when I first bought from Revain. The low coolant indicator light on the dashboard came on again after about five months of use. Took the sensor out, smeared it with waterproof silicone and used it again until a new GM original came to me from Revain. This one returns. Do not purchase more Dorman coolant tanks. This is a common problem on Saturn vehicles. They break at the

Good tank (so far), terrible cap

I bought this tank because the old one had cracks on top in two places (I've served 18 years, I'm not complaining). This one came and went right in place of the original. Fits right, filled with coolant. I drove it to school once and the low coolant light had already gone out. When I opened the hood, I found that the cover that came with the kit was cracked. The day after tomorrow! It didn't rip when putting it on, but it did after less than an hour's ride. I am very disappointed in the quality

Fits exactly with all components included

Concerned that the coolant level sensor might not be part of the reservoir because it is not in the picture. But this part is just the right fit, fit and function for my 2000 Saturn and has a switch. Driven a few thousand miles at full speed, no leaks or problems. The part was easy to remove and left almost all of the coolant in the engine. And then, following the replacement instructions from the internet, I filled the coolant system to the desired level. I'm glad I did this repair myself. I…

FAIL! Good replacement, most of the time, then worse.

No complaints, works as it should, almost identical to the original. Ease of installation. Update: A little under two months and as many have said the CAP went to shit and threw up. He loses 2 stars for that. Update 2: Turns out the lid leaking issue happens with every lid I've tried. It seems that the threaded neck that the cap screws onto is an issue that doesn't provide a proper seal. Update 3: After solving the lid problem with teflon tape, the tank failed, 2 months after 3 years. At least…

It works. in Spare parts

I bought a new one. I collect them from junkyards and I know it's a Dorman by the number stamped on the tank itself. Caps are generally cheap, not a problem for me since I know better, go to NAPA and get a $5 or $6 stant cap. For the most part, the transmitters are good, and I've only found one of about 20 used ones I've bought. However, be careful with the transmitter unit when connecting/disconnecting the wiring harness as you can loosen it and essentially render the transmitter unit unusable

Cons
  • Brief instructions

READ THIS REVIEW! If you're shopping for a Saturn, make sure you have the right cover! This tank comes with a 15lb cap and my Saturn 97 SC2 should have an ACDelco RC87 18lb cap. (Yes, that's 18lbs, not 16lbs, look at the pictures of the RC87 cover.) That 15lbs immediately bulged and started blowing coolant, thinking I had a blown head gasket. Almost tore the car apart for no reason! So make sure you get the right cap and if not, order a genuine ACDelco cap with the right print. Lid. It turns…

Coolant level float defective on delivery

I had problems with the coolant system and (inaccurately, tbh) it was isolated from the expansion tank so I bought a brand new one from Dorman. It was probably easy enough to install, but when I connected the level sensor to the tank, my car read that I had no coolant - it had a completely full coolant system. I took the advice and drained the coolant from the reservoir, removed it and cleaned the inside as thoroughly as I could with hot soapy water and shaking vigorously for a few minutes to…
