Running: spare parts

330,000 km and finally shorted out the connector. (general) Cut and splice only one wire at a time. Started from the first time, easy.

Buy Motorcraft: Spare parts

Lasted 8 months. First I had problems with the glow plugs, then with the injector. Trying to get them under warranty doesn't go well. Here is the 1 year warranty.

Good thing they come with pigtails for the motor.

I have used them before. The good thing is that they come with pigtails for the engine wiring harness that enters on the outside of the gasket. They usually burn out and you can't get them off the ford.

Everything you need.

The kit includes gaskets, pigtails that plug into the gaskets and all the wires that run under the valve cover gasket. These things fail all the time when the wires in the gasket or spark plug burn out. Those are valve cover gaskets, not intake manifold gaskets. They are suitable for Ford 7.3 liter diesel engines.

Smoking medicine for parts

I like this replacement design more than the OEM part. If your 7.3 liter engine smokes excessively when cold starting, the problem could be a bad wiring harness that is causing the glow plugs to not work. We disconnect all 4 pigtails and look for signs of melting wires at the connectors. 13mm socket for removing valve cover bolts. Use compressed air around the engine BEFORE removing the valve cover.

This product has become our salvation. We bought 2 (they are identical) not knowing we would be using both on our diesel panel. The wires were the opposite color as they should be, but we just connected them the way they were lined up and it worked. Big. All this after replacing several sensors. Too bad we didn't exchange them earlier. Now everything is in order. Many Thanks

Quality alone is not enough!: Seals

Just a note on my mechanical experience. I've been doing auto repairs, including complete engine rebuilds, since high school in the '60s. I bought these instead of OEM due to the lower price. So far they have worked but I am concerned about the weak retaining springs that press the connector against the injectors under the valve cover. For that reason I didn't want to install them. It's not easy to remove the valve covers when there is a problem because you have to remove everything else to…
