Unplug!: Fans

I installed this on my parents 2009 Ford Edge. I come complete and working at the moment. This is a great deal for both fans and fan build and controllers. It remains to be seen how long this will last. I just have to plug in and it works.

Fan great on second try

The first fan was DOA as were several other reviewers. I finally got a working device, installation was quick and the fit was perfect. Be sure to order the correct fan for vehicles with a trailer hitch. The Revain return and replacement process couldn't have been simpler - well, they could have installed it for me! Order and replace it yourself and save about $600.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Weight

I was able to fix my 2009 Ford Edge which is overheating at idle so I'm a happy customer but curious if there might be problems some people are reporting related to the fan turning off the whole time. What to do with a connector that's suitable for aftermarket replacement? The connector on the vehicle's wiring harness requires additional force to snap the two electrical parts together. TIP: For those planning to install the part themselves, it is recommended that you remove the radiator hose…

  • Decent performance

  • poorly thought out

I need to edit the view on this one. The fans failed after 2 months and did not spin high enough to cool the car. Originally rated 5 stars with 1,000 miles. The product came quickly, well packaged and was a perfect replacement for the original part but has never failed. Replacing the fan with a genuine part at the dealership and repairing any other damage resulting from this failure and overheating will cost $1,000! Many people like this product. If you can afford Motorcraft, do it. Otherwise…

Not suitable for engine cooling system and air conditioning

I spent extra money on this particular part because my mechanic said this brand is the best. OK I don't know how these other customers were able to fit this part because it did NOT fit my 2010 Edge SEL, when speaking to other shops and several different dealers AFTER trying another more expensive part to no avail, they said For They stopped using these replacement parts because the only part that fit and worked properly was the genuine part direct from the manufacturer. So do your homework…

needs a lot of installation before the fan can be ordered

I ordered this replacement fan for my 2013 Ford Edge 3.5L engine, the old fan no longer works so I need a new one . When it arrived the packaging box had several holes in the bottom of the box and appeared to have been opened and resealed with tape in due course. After opening and inspecting the fan assembly, the top of the fan frame had a broken piece of plastic that was supposed to attach the top water hose to the fan frame. , 5 hours in my garage, the fan works fine and I have returned my…

It's cheap but the quality is like you just bought the part from the dealer

This issue has been fixed in my 2010 Lincoln MKX by a reputable local institution for about 4 years now. Return! When the fan came on it sounded like an airplane taking off on a small engine and I complained and the theory was it wasn't a Lincoln part but I was billed as an OEM part! They couldn't remember that very important part and when I called him that he literally turned around and leaned over and said "kiss my ass" while slapping his cheek! Being a woman trying to fix a car was…

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Something different

Edit - Died a few days after install. Plan to return and order a Ford OEM Motorcraft part. Important note: The first picture shows the module with towbar (2 pins to the fans) but the last picture shows the module with only one fan pin, which in the past has always been the module for use without a towbar package. I have a 2011 Lincoln MKX with a trailer hitch. So when I opened the box and saw the 1-pin module, I immediately called Dorman. To my surprise, a real person contacted tech support and

Fan connector is a major headache for the 2013 Ford Edge

Product arrived as described. Be sure to watch the video on Youtube showing the installation of the fan. If you know in advance what you need to do, you can replace the fan in 15-20 minutes, but then you have to spend another 30 minutes adjusting the connector. The radiator fan is located under the air intake and various hoses. Once the air intake hardware is removed, all you have to do is move the hoses out of the way. The old fan has to rotate 90 degrees to pull it out, and then the new fan…
