🔌 Dorman 741-553 Front Passenger Side Power Window Motor and Regulator Assembly for Jeep Models in Black Review

As several reviewers before me have complained, there's no excuse for not having two black screws on the top and center of the regulator fit ! It's about as bad as not putting four mounting bolts on the Sensen shocks. One might be thankful that now that the Dorman regulator exists in the market, someone for that won't take all the people who have a tick on them. Calico technique. Very disappointed.

I had to return the first one I ordered from another seller because it didn't fit as described. So we got the old one out and looked at it. It looked almost exactly like that, and of course. Boom. perfect for our 2000 Grand Jeep Cherokee Limited. It is good to be able to take care of what is given to you. Thanks to everyone who made this possible. 🤗

My 2000 JeepGC is 10'99 so it must be the right part. Doesn't fit the window, so it pulls the window out of the rails every time it's raised/lowered. It took about three days for the glass to completely rip out of the guides and the glass was just rattling in the door. It appears to be a well-made piece and others seem happy with it, but it didn't work for me. Thank goodness for Revain's amazing return policy.

I replaced this part myself last fall and it still works great. I don't know what other reviewers have said about the screw holes not matching, mine matched and I didn't need a screwdriver. I just watched a video on how to take pictures and got the job done in about an hour. Motor speed is a little slower than other windows, but very light. Worked great for a few months and was an incredibly cheap alternative to store making. I only know the basics about vehicles and was able to figure out how…

The device works well while the window rises and falls so this part is in Order. However, Dorman forgot to cut two holes, I found it odd when I only saw two screws. I didn't think anything of it until I went to install and two holes were drilled. I wanted to use two of my screws that I had removed but they wouldn't screw in. So I had two options: tap the threads myself or drill them out and use a lock nut. There was no faucet so drilled to a larger size and used a bolt with a lock nut, problem…

Installation went very well after downloading the removal/installation instructions from the Dorman website; with two caveats. 1) The instructions on page 4 relate to removing the seven screws holding the power window and engine block to the door, however only six of the seven screws are marked on the drawing. 2) The two screw holes on the new window regulator assembly were not trimmed for the screws. Great quality replacement part but NOTE: There are two holes that attach the window rail to the door that do NOT clamp like an OEM part. Rather than just reusing the original bolts (because the holes are too small and unthreaded), I had to drill a larger hole and use a nut from the inside to ensure a proper fit.
