The overall product looks solid, but there are some quality control issues. I ordered two of these and as you can see in the picture there were two very different sizes of glue, one looking like a stripped down version of the other. I had to use my own glue to properly bond it to my drive. Also, you can see that one came with a 4-pin adapter and the other didn't (I examined the packaging carefully). I bought two with MSI design. I thought they both look good, no problems with the quality of the products. I like the fact that the RGB cable connected to the device is thinner than the picture so it's much easier to hide. I haven't used a Molex controller so I can't comment on its fragility. When my devices are connected to the motherboard RGB header, I can control them with MSI Dragon software. I agree that it should probably cost $20 instead of $30. +. Looks good, but the molex connection sucks. Pins bend easily. Be easy to connect it. Double sided tape not included. I thought I didn't mention what it was. Maybe I'm wrong. Mediocre quality.
