This product has never worked properly. Hollow light metal was already forbidden before I installed it. I've tried using it on my dogs because it's not strong enough for a child. I wish I had returned it while I still could. It's not a useless piece of metal lying in a box. Must be kicked out.

I am very disappointed with this goal. I plan to send photos to the manufacturer in hopes of a replacement or refund for my purchase. I have two young sons aged 3 and 2 and this gate hasn't withstood curiosity or super baby tantrums for more than a few months. I was hopeful in my thinking - learn from me - don't do it.

Large gate. I love the auto close and open feature. I have four children. Three of them are less than 4 years old and one just started crawling so this will save my life. The locking function is also great. Even if you have intelligent cookie kids who don't have the upper body strength to pull the gate, they can't run away when they pull the button back. winner in my book. It also came with extra seals and everything needed to run the gate.

As someone else wrote, this gate broke very quickly. The good news is that even broken it works. About two months after we installed the gate, my husband went to open it and the whole "door" fell down. Luckily the gate still works, we just have to be careful not to lift too much or it will come loose again. We bought this gate to keep our German Shepherd puppy in places where we could control him. It was a great product for the first four months until it broke. Like another reviewer, the plastic on the hinge side is broken, causing the gate to slide out every time it's opened. It took a while to order and return the right Revain Wearhouse extensions but now we have the perfect baby door to keep our two German Shepherds out of our kitchen. The big plus is that Wearhouse's offerings even had extensions and are a lot cheaper than buying new. Not as good as I hoped. It closes automatically, but not completely without a little help. A bottom latch is too tight and will not close fully. Also, I was able to attach my final gate firmly enough without using screws. It was so tight it didn't move. I can not do this. Didn't fit in our 40" aisle before we put the tie rods in. Once we put them on (the shortest length), they were about 2 inches longer. So I suggest if your hole is shorter than 42" this will not fit. We put it in a different hole and once installed the locking mechanism was so difficult to open that you had to lift it and then push or pull.
