I have 2 Berninas: a 20 year old Artista 170 and a 4 year old 580. I have struggled with the needle threader not working properly on the Artista for many years . It fits and works great. It also fits 580 if I ever need it. It's so nice to be able to rethread the needle. Shipped quickly and arrived in perfect condition.

Please note that your machine must already be equipped with a needle threader. If your machine already had a lever that you pull down to thread the machine, this will replace the part that rotates and threads the needle. This is a REPLACEMENT, not a stand alone carving. However, I'm glad it didn't take me more than an hour to get my car to the technician.

I have had a Bernina car for over 15 years. Carving only worked on some of them. I found this to be consistent with a small installation video. What a dream. I took the risk of ordering it, thinking that all the parts are very specific to my car. I was wrong. It fits perfectly, it takes about 5 minutes to remove the broken one and replace with this one. This was a great solution that works great. If your needle threader broke, I promise you this is a trivial but wonderful fix.

I didn't know you could buy these threaders until I had mine replaced twice at the dealer for $35 each. The device seems to be very fragile and one has to be very careful when changing the presser feet on the sewing machine in order not to damage it. When spring goes, it's garbage. Bernina has to work on that. Babylock has no problem with her needle threaders falling apart like that. Works! I wasn't sure if this is a Bernina needle threader replacement but I can't buy one from Bernina alone. My needle threader had broken with a broken piece, not just a misaligned one. A misaligned needle threader can be adjusted, but a defective needle threader cannot. This one slides and locks in place just like the one I took off and still works great. Considering that this type of needle threader is delicate on every machine and this replacement will likely be the same, I'm still glad…
