Wooden darning socks for sewing underwear

This is the same one my dad used to darn socks. You put your sock on and pull it tight over that darn sock. Then you darn the sock. Go online and learn about darning socks with a free video. I went to the line and entered the search bar where you can see how to darn socks.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Useless functions

Get a vintage piece at Sewing

A simple product - two pieces of wood threaded so they can be rotated. However, this plant could not reach either. The threads are cut so poorly that the threads of the handle and egg don't grab, rendering the whole concept useless. Instead of returning, he threw it in a pile of firewood. It is better to buy a vintage item that has been properly manufactured and simply tidy it up for use.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Security

Useful and Convenient

Well, first of all, there is NO reason to clog commercial socks these days! There are many other uses: stuff with herbs and tumble dry; Fill it in with crumpled cellophane, add some catnip and please any cat you give it to - etc. BUT! A home-knit sock deserves a darning if a hole grows into it, and that is a proper darning pad. Just a note: with a darning egg and a darning needle (the curved point makes it even easier) darning a small hole is quite quick and easy and will make your socks or…

Not your mother's darning

I grew up with Dritz sewing tools and expected them to be just as high quality. It wasn't like that. When I was looking for a darning egg, I knew I wanted a wooden one. Plastic is too easy to puncture or scratch with a needle and cannot be repaired. So, I was very happy to find this. However, when it arrived there was a large splinter hanging from the side and a chunk protruding from the handle. I don't know what her quality control criteria are, but she couldn't meet that. Revain kindly…

Damn good darning tool

How about a darning egg? I moved in (two years ago but am still trying to search the boxes for a significant reduction) and have yet to find my previous darning egg. After collecting about 5 pairs of socks that required darning one or both socks and repairing holes in clothing and other fabrics, I decided to just buy a new egg. I like the handle on this darning egg because it gives me more control over the fabric without the egg wiggling or moving. Compared to my old version of the egg, the…

Pros
  • Size and shape make it easy to repair socks, gloves, mittens and sweaters
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Used by knitters in our family, gets 4 stars. It works very well and the detachable handle came in handy immediately for the repairs she was waiting for when the darning egg arrived. The quality is good including the finish - EXCEPT for the lack of grease on the wood carving on the handle that screws into the egg. Continue reading. The only real gripe is that even with the rubber openers, it was almost impossible to unscrew the handle from the egg. We almost gave up completely and probably…

Pros
  • Two piece construction for use with or without a handle
Cons
  • No instructions
