DO NOT BUY! on buttons

Absolutely the worst quality you can buy. I went through the whole package trying to get one button to work properly. The rivets are very cheap metal and flex sideways before they can be driven fully into the button.

Pros
  • Finished
Cons
  • No machine

A button on my favorite jeans broke and I almost threw them away

A button on my favorite jeans broke and I almost threw them away. I decided to take a look and see if I could find a replacement and watch and see. They are perfect and I now have backups in case my kids or I lose more buttons. It was easy to put on, the hardest part was not stuffing my fingers when I got lazy and used my husband's bedside table instead of going to the workbench in our garage.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Very expensive

Not sure if this is the best thing about buttons

the first 2 sets couldn't withstand a light hit with a hammer. The stylus is very weak and bends easily. One even broke inside the button. To fasten them properly, you need to find a way to keep the button and pin in perfect alignment while hammering. For my third set of knobs, I decided to use a pair of vise pliers. It also means I had to glue the button to prevent the pliers from scraping and scraping the metal on the button. This technique worked. It's a simple process and design, but in my…

Looks good but difficult to attach and poor packaging

Very difficult to attach. The small buttons used to attach the buttons to the backpack are very easy to bend and snap into place. I broke 3 of these just to attach a button and even the one I attached was only halfway into the button before it bent and couldn't be hammered any further. Also, the packaging is very weak. The glue holding the package together broke off during shipping, so I received a box with buttons scattered around, completely empty. Also, the buttons look pretty when you put…

Pros
  • Sewing supplies and supplies
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Don't use a hammer. Use pliers.

Cannot be used with a hammer! Do not do that! I did my best. As other reviews have said, the C-pillar just flexes. First time unsuccessful. On my second try, I tried pliers and it worked great! The button fits and stays on, I hope it holds up better than the original which got too loose to work. I'm not a particularly tall or strong person and I was able to cover the button with fabric and line up the pliers to grab the button and then lean on the pliers to close it on the tabletop. I assembled

Pros
  • Knobs

  • You could have chosen a newer model

Don't waste your time and money

I bought these to replace the fly on my jeans. These buttons aren't worth a damn. They're probably soft die-cast metal (think hot wheels). I went through two different buttons with 5 attempts to try and place the button. I placed the rear pin on a hard wooden surface, pressed the button against it and hit it with a small hammer with varying degrees of force. The button stuck and then broke off. It didn't stay in place because the metal/plastic was so soft it could be damaged. I thought I might…

Pros
  • Zippers

  • Have been damaged
