Doesn't work as well as cheaper "peel "

Works well on flat wood surfaces but not well for sculpting. In addition, several applications were required in some areas.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • No instructions

Removes paint well

I used this with tear off paper on a painted brick wall. The paper didn't remove it completely, but the paint came off well with a scraper. Much less messy than traditional strippers. It also doesn't have the horrible smells that most strippers seem to have. I want to use this product again.

Pros
  • Several competitors
Cons
  • Can't remember

Do not use on wood! Best Paint Remover

Works well on metal surfaces but ruined wooden doors I was trying to restore. The product is very damp and although I have tested it as stated the wood paneling on the door has warped. A simple DIY project ended up having to completely replace the doors. I would recommend a heavy duty product instead, although it takes longer to apply. main fright.

Cons

Excellent in Light Industrial/Manufacturing

Time Sensitive Product! Small, flat, light disturbances should last less long. If you forget it, it will blow up almost everything. We accidentally left some on storage shelves and concrete and he ripped the shelves down to metal and concrete sheen. Did a great job with everything I needed: old spilled paint, stain, resins, glue and other old unknown substances.

Pros
  • Great for Me
Cons
  • Ugly Packaging

Does not remove polish

Does not remove polish even after two uses and 24 hours. This makes cleaning a nightmare as the polish was sticky but wouldn't scrape off. Two coats of paint were applied over the paint, the paint settled normally, had to be scraped off in some places. The label states that it removes all industrial and non-industrial coatings. If he just peeled off the paint I wouldn't buy it. Have requested a refund.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Working speed

Learning curve works though!

This product requires LOTS of training but once you get the hang of it it's worth it! I have used this wood product (baseboards, moldings, doors etc.) in my home to remove the ugly light colored stains left on all the woodwork by the previous owner. You need to apply this wash THICK according to the instructions (so you can't see the wood underneath at all). I left it on Dumond laminated paper for a full 24 hours and the stain was completely gone. It's pricey but absolutely did the job for me!

Easy to apply, patience is key

5 gallon comes unpapered and says not needed but when used it helps the process accelerate. We had to remove 4 coats of paint. When they say let go for a long time (24-36 hours), they really mean it. The first picture shows how it is applied on the left side. The right one came off easily after 24 hours (even with paper). In the second picture on the left they are removed after 12 hours. Two coats removed. It had to be left for another 12 to remove the other two layers. It can also be easilyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for hold and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

I don't normally write product reviews but this product is just AMAZING. I was trying to remove a thick coating from my 1960's ranch house. Washing with hot and cold air did not help. After several different tests we found that the best combination for our specific needs is the spatula application. Apply Dumond paper for 24 hours, then scrape off. Now the over 1/4 thick coating comes off easily like butter and has been removed in the concrete block mortar lines as well. I then used a hot waterโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • Something different
