This was the perfect replacement for the Honeywell filters we usually buy. Great price, fast delivery and they worked well.

Sometimes these types of filters are hard to find and I suspect they don't fit properly, but they work great with my Honeywell humidifier. I prefer this guy with the blue mesh on the outside over the originals which are all white and have some kind of hard mesh material around the filter on the outside.

I have used third party filters in the past and have been dissatisfied with their dimensional stability and they were too porous and let too much moisture through. air even on the lowest settings. These filters have a stiff fabric belt on the outside that holds shape and allows for better moisture control.

These filters will not work as advertised. They don't absorb water. Typically, when running a Honeywell humidifier on medium settings overnight, my hygrometer registers a 5% increase in humidity and the water level drops by about half. With these filters, the humidity does not change and the tank is completely full after more than 8 hours of operation. So they cost next to nothing.

I liked that they are stronger than some of Honeywell's other replacement filters. And I thought adding the blue stuff like OEM makes them more authentic. However, they don't soak up water as quickly as OEM Honeywell or other counterfeits. They're great when you just need a little extra room humidity, but they'll significantly reduce your hourly water use, which it should be (and yes, I pre-humidified them prior to installation).

I don't think brand is the problem. I used to use plain Durabasics filters in my Honeywell humidifiers and thought they were just as effective as Honeywell filters. But these "premium" filters (with an additional blue filter on the outside to keep dirt out) reduce the effectiveness of my humidifier to almost zero.
