It took me about 30 minutes to set up all the parameters on my SOVOL SV01 (direct drive). This thread seems happier if it cools faster. I was able to get it to print with a bed temp of 50C + Aquanet hairspray, turning off the layer after the first few coats and with a nozzle temp of 215C. When I tried to print at 220-225°C, the ironing effect of the nozzle caused the uncooled filament to drag across the print, creating what appeared to be waves. On the other hand, 205C-210C looked like it was a

This is a great PLA. The build area that comes with it isn't great.

Let me start by saying that this is awesome PLA. I've already rewound 4 spools in two months and have never experienced jams, sticking issues or misprints. They recommend using it at 220°C, which is a higher recommendation than most other PLAs I've used, but it worked great. I have no problem with PLA itself. The build mat/surface is a different story. My bed is 200 x 200 and this rug has at least 1 cm of open worktop on all sides. So the build mat is closer to 180 x 180. The build mat fully…

Extremely unreliable print medium

To be honest I have no idea what everyone else is talking about. I've made 20 attempts with different combinations of settings to get this stuff to reliably stick to the bed and every time it's failed in one way or another. I do a lot of 3D printing, but I'm not a big hobbyist. I don't type because it's fun (although sometimes it's fun), I type because I need something to get off the bed. I have absolutely no joy in finding the right temperatures and settings. I want to print, come back in 4…
