Good choice! in the kitchen and dining room

I bought this as all the ones I've found locally turn on and off for safety, but this doesn't allow you to get a strong and even heat for a get good browning when cooking with cast iron. I like it! I wish they made a bigger one as it's about 2 inches too small for my large cast iron skillet, but it fits my small one just fine. I use it often!

Heats up quickly but too many cycles on and off

I bought this to be able to cook steaks on the patio where I can't use propane. I use a 10 inch cast iron skillet and try to get it smoking evenly throughout the pan for searing. I use the maximum heat setting. It heats up very quickly but has hot spots and then turns on and off as soon as I bring the pan to searing temperature. The steak goes from smoky to undercooked, then rekindled a minute later and reheated to smoky. It is very difficult to calculate how long it takes to cook compared to…

Was looking for an induction cooker for my balcony. I live in a high-rise building, bbq's are not allowed on the balcony, but the rules don't say anything about cooking outdoors; only without open fire. To get around this, use an induction stovetop, which can reach very high temperatures, and a durable cast iron skillet.
