Advertised as universal but it isn't. I have a normal sized head and the hat barely fits with the adjustable strap fully extended. The sides of the hat are also quite short, presumably to save material. Thus, it rises about 1-1-1/2 inches above the ear. Looks well made, just a little small.

This is a good cap, but if you're a picky Air Force veteran, buy something else. The fit is ok (one size fits best) and I love the color. But the date in Roman numerals under the embroidered AF emblem is odd. What the heck is MCMXMI? 19009901001? I'm guessing it must have been 1947 when the Air Force was formed as a separate branch of the US military. A minor thing, but it's Made in China.

This hat is so smelly and adorable! Bought an AF Vet for my dad and he loves it. Says it fits him perfectly and doesn't look "old" (even though he's 77 lol). He even went to the Air Force Museum and bought a hat. He says it looked nerdy and vintage, and he was glad to have a hat that was more modern and didn't look like the standard old man's baseball cap (think trucker hat). I've always had trouble with baseball caps as my large head made most caps difficult to adjust, the worst being the ones with plastic pins and holes. After receiving this hat, I stretched the strap back through the stepless buckle as far as I could, and surprisingly the hat was too loose. After fine tuning the size, this hat fits my head perfectly. Aside from the sizing option, which already made it a winner, I think the hat just looks great. In a nutshell - I'm a US Air Force veteran. The US Air Force "seal" on my hat is incorrect for a number of reasons. Mine only has 11 stars instead of thirteen and some of the colors are wrong. However, MCMXLVII is what the seal itself shows in the same way as the cap, so it's fine. However, it is clear that the designer decided to change the actual appearance of the official "seal”, and with it the meaning.
