I had an amplifier board chip in an old all-in-one 2.1 PC speaker system with a subwoofer. I hooked up a subwoofer and speakers to it and it turned out to be more powerful than the amp that came with the original speakers which was advertised at 75 watts. Obviously this was a lie but these things are plain and clear at 15Wx2 and 20Wx1 for the subwoofer. Worked great until it started to get warm. Cool, lots of energy, lots of heat, that's fine. I figured I'd hit the power button as I only need it every now and then for the speakerphone in my car. Out, great. I went to work on the car for 20 minutes and then realized my car smelled like burnt electronics. Not good. The power was off, but it was still on and HOT. A 20w 4 8 ohm amp should have no problem with a single 20w 8 ohm speaker. nope And I even had a 3A fuse built in and it didn't blow. So
