2006 wrx Impreza - Parts

My Subi blew air at very low volume, found out it had a cabin filter, bought it and installed it, now it works correctly, easy installation process. It even comes with instructions.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Nothing

Cardboard torn on arrival

Initial order was delayed and when this item finally arrived the packaging was intact but the box was all torn and looks like someone may have dropped or opened it before .

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Not as thick as other sets

Does what it should.

Not particularly enthusiastic. Feels cheap and looks cheap. Made in China, of course. My OEM filter in my WRX was gross. This has been replaced and it works. I probably wouldn't buy this brand again just because of the quality, but I won't be returning it either as it will do what it's supposed to do.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Negative impression

I like my suby but they could be better. This filter fits easily.

I'd rather use a K&N filter or some other filter that cleans, but the way Subaru makes dashboards they can't be hit without taking the car apart. It is very flexible and bends to make it easy to put on. Cheap enough not too bad to change every 10-20k miles.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • vaguely remember

paper filter. There is no coal.

Paper filter. There is no coal. Manufactured in Poland. There is no clear marking on the filter itself other than an arrow (which I assume indicates the direction of airflow, so make sure to point it in the right direction). The box label lists some different part numbers from other brands, so maybe it's the same product? Champ CAF1824P, Purolator C25855, Wix 24485. See attached photo.

Pros
  • Top marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Basically OK, but...

Inexpensive and fits just right

Same size and crimp as OE but at a much better price. To change the filter, you need to remove the glove box built into the lower part of the dashboard on the passenger side. . Only a screwdriver is required but care must be taken when loosening the screws as there is not much slack in the glove box light wiring so it is best to have something underneath to support the glove box when removing it.

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

If you're like me and I know who I am

How long has it been since you changed your cabin filter? If you're like me, and I know I am, you may have waited longer than the recommended 15,000 miles. Now that I've replaced mine I have much better airflow as it's no longer blocked by a dirty filter. Check out the picture I've added and you'll see what I mean. On the left is an old filter that made my fan work really hard to move some air. On the right is the new filter and the box it came in. Air flows lighter and stronger than before…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
