original parts with good reason! This kit differs from the 1406. The cup washer is 0.060 instead of 0.030 of the original. So all float settings are at 0.030. Allstate provides a copy of the original instructions. So. they don't fit anywhere. And the accelerator pump is metal, not plastic. metal rusts. The original plastic lasted from 1981-2019! And it still worked! 38 years. The added cost of the original OEM is worth the time and frustration.

better than original Edelbrock repair kit; not only has an accelerator pump (not included in the Edelbrock kit), but also one made of metal (vs. plastic). All parts are high quality and true to size. And it's made in the USA. By the way, according to the instructions, there are two springs for the squeegee rods, but they are not. It's ok (reusing the old ones) but I spent over an hour looking for them (thought I lost them) only to find out they weren't included.

Kit includes everything needed for a fairly deep rework. This was my first carburetor repair so I used YouTube videos for reference. I noticed that the YouTube rebuilders had a spring under the accelerator pump cup (separate from the actual accelerator pump spring) that was not included in this kit. I also don't see it in the picture advertised for the product so it didn't bother me. I used a spring from an old accelerator pump. Hope it works as expected.

The kit itself is great and the parts appear to be as good as or better than the original parts. However, the enclosed instructions are a photocopy, not a printout. The photocopy is not clear and the right 1/2 inch of the page is cut off. This wouldn't be such a problem if the adjustment dimensions weren't in those 1/2 inches. After reading the reviews on this product I preferred it to the official Edelbrock kit. I'm glad I did! I bought this kit for a 1986 GMC C1500 that had an Edelbrock 1406 installed. The carburetor was dirty from 33 year old worn fuel hoses. If you've never done this before, check out Hagerty's Edelbrock/Carter carburetor rebuild video on YouTube. I couldn't have done it without this video. All parts in this set are carefully assembled and of high quality. I highly recommend this set.

New accelerator pump return spring not included for unknown reason. Anyway, that's the part that went bad on my Edelbrock 1406 carburetor. The photo doesn't show the return spring, so I'm guessing it's my own fault. However, it must be included. Directions are substandard at best. In my opinion, a little more effort could have been put into explaining the recovery process rather than just including a blurry photocopy of the competition instructions. +1 for the very nice build of the metal…

This set is just gorgeous! I have a Ford 427 with two Edelbrock 1404 quads. Both played up and refused to get used to being overly rich. A friend recommended this kit to an Edelbrock factory kit and I can see why! Anything, and I mean EVERYTHING I need to make my old carbs feel like new! Metal accelerator pump does not come with accelerator pump return spring. Overall a great kit. I used it on an Edelbrock 1405 on a 1966 Plymouth Sport Fury 383 engine. Be sure to follow the instructions for the carburetor to work really well it needs to have a specific clearance for the floats to hang in the bowls and the specific height they need to be to disable the needle and seat and make sure that your accelerator pump shaft is the correct distance from the carburetor to really achieve…

I just received this kit and have not installed it yet. I'll update this review when it's installed. If you look at the kit, it's not bubble wrap on cardboard. It comes in a zipped pouch fitted with a clip to prevent opening. It has a needle and seat (two pieces) and has everything you need to replace your carburetor.
