Not bad for $28

There are $10 "Pure" brushes and $60 "Silvertip" brushes. This is a small "best" badger brush for $30. Badger hair can be found at any price (better than boar or synthetic) but in three different qualities. $60 brushes have twice as many bristles - they're much fuller (bigger knot). This one looks like my travel brush. PLUS, the other brushes have a real grip. As usual with reviews, it carries absolutely no weight. It works, but I find a $10 or $60 brush better. I'll keep it (as it was a giftโ€ฆ

Shaving Supplies Tips

I hope this helps someone who is serious about shaving properly. It's very simple, take a good brush and a good bar of soap. You don't have to spend hundreds of dollars, just be smart and do your research. I explained with a cheap brush (about $7) and bought soap that some people make and sell with basic ingredients and essential oils but they know NOTHING about shaving soap. Firstly, when they try to tell you not to expect a lot of suds from their soap, and that's fine, well. it's just notโ€ฆ

EXCEPTIONAL and still going strong after 7 years!

I bought this product in November 2013 and decided to leave a review. It is certainly an excellent product that has stood the test of time. I usually shave 3-4 times a week and have never had any problems. No mold. Very little badger hair comes off the product. It's soft and creates a nice lather. As long as you let it air dry properly and stand it upright to prevent mold, you won't have a problem. When rinsing, do not pull the brush, but gently squeeze and, if at all, push upwards to avoidโ€ฆ

I'm new to this field.

My opinion should be treated with suspicion. I recently went "old school" and bought this item along with a double blade razor (Merkur Heavy Duty) and Proraso soap. I'm still learning how to maximize foam. I lathered up my palm and then applied it to my face as the brush seemed to irritate my face a bit. Nothing special, but my face would be redder after shaving if I applied the foam directly to my face with a brush instead of lathering it onto my palms and then applying by hand. Maybe theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Negative exists

This brush has a softer feel and foams a little better than my old brush, but unfortunately it flakes off. Not a little, a lot: 8-12 bristles per application. When lathering, the bristles break off in my face and interfere with the blade. The inside of the Trufitt and Hill soap dish looks like a hair salon floor. It's noticeably less full than when I bought it a few months ago and obviously doesn't last as long as my old cheap standard brush. waste of money.

Pros
  • Good workmanship
Cons
  • No mold required

It was actually a good brush but I ended up sending it back

It was actually a good brush but I ended up sending it back. I'm new to lathering with a badger brush, I was expecting the bristles to be softer. They were a bit prickly and irritated my face. Not terrible, just not the smooth experience I was expecting. The brush shed about 5 bristles on the first shave and continued to shed a few bristles with each shave. It may have slowed down over time. I've only had 3 or 4 shaves with it so I don't know if it's fair to say it lost a lot of bristles. Anyโ€ฆ
