I bought this battery powered lighter because I was fed up with butane. This device charges in 20 minutes with the included USB cable and I was able to light a candle just as quickly as a regular long neck lighter. This has the added benefit of a flexible, narrow-necked candle head. It really is what you need and nothing you don't.

I love scented candles and was specifically thinking of looking for a lighter that bends around the neck to fit in large glass candle holders. burned out in a bank. I never dreamed of finding a lighter with a flexible neck, ALSO without a flame, ALSO rechargeable. Maybe I'm living in the dark times, but I had no idea we had progressed so far in the light world. It looks very elegant and is very easy to use - no sticking, no scratches, no mess! This worked great the first 2 times to light the logs in the fireplace. So I was very excited to use it again a few days later during Thanksgiving. And like that Michigan J. Frog cartoon, he wasn't dancing on stage, the audience (and Turkey) were waiting! It looked fully charged with all those beautiful blue lights. But just in case I reloaded it. Well it doesn't light up at all, no spark, zilch! Waste $$

Full Disclosure - I don't like being around fire. We bought another universal lighter to light candles in the inner glass but it was like a blowtorch! The flame was huge and I was afraid to be near it. Looking for something better, I came across this arc lighter. It is flexible and rechargeable. The arc is small and when the wick of the candle is lit there is no strong ignition in the glass. It seems very safe to me. I would recommend this to everyone.

Wow, I like it! More importantly, I use it all the time. I light a candle every day after work and on weekends. I LOVE candles because of their smell. No more burning fingers with lighters or matches! No more trying to direct the flame correctly. No more trying to light it multiple times when the flame gets closer to my fingers but doesn't grab the wick! I pull the trigger and hold it in until the fuse blows. Take your time, don't worry, and don't worry about flames and burns. Actually no flame
