Not a very good sharpener for children. You must hold the pen in place very firmly, otherwise the force of the pointing mechanism will simply twist the pen. I would not recommend anyone to buy this. Spend a few more dollars and buy a standard sharpener with a fork.

The assessment that this is absolute rubbish is correct. This is the worst pencil sharpener I've ever seen. You can't sharpen a pencil with it. No exit. Sharpening isn't very quick - it's just a waste of money.

I've used this for regular #2 and colored pencils. Works great and I love the look. It opens slightly for empty chips. Great suggestion for me, I don't use it every day but I have used it a few times a week or more and I love going back to using crayons instead of baby crayons!
