EXCELLENT so far on external hard drives

I've finally added this to my Windows 7/64 HP desktop by connecting it with the USB cable that came with it. From previous experience with other WD external hard drives I have - there was some fiddling around with adding drivers etc - but I was amazed to find that the driver installed INSTANTLY and the drive was ready to use as soon as the cable connected to it - and I could use it immediately. USB powers it too - so there's no need for a separate power cord requiring an outlet, which is nice…

Stay away: unreliable

I've been buying 1 TB USB sticks from Western Digital for a few years. You will die in two years. I can handle it. But I bought a few of these in January 2019. It is now early May 2019 and both make clicking noises when I attach them and refuse to mount (connect to the computer). I switch them to the edge and type them on my desk and they stop clicking and connecting and I make a backup. One had issues with clicks in March and now the other is clicking and needs to be touched too. It's pretty…

No more uninstall, install, uninstall. (PS4)

I bought this disc to increase the capacity of my PlayStation 4. I have a 500GB model and while that seems like a lot of storage, it really won't get you very far. These are multiple games and other miscellaneous content. It got to the point where I had to delete my favorite games in order to play something new. It's not something I want to keep doing. It literally took 5 seconds to format this drive as external storage and around 20 minutes to transfer most of my PS4 games from storage to this

Western Digital is garbage.

I used this to save "Time Machine" on my MB AIR. Which is mostly only used when we are in our second home. So that means this spare WD 1TB drive was used for 3 months (January, February, March) and this month, October. I started getting error messages about the hard drive not ejecting properly even though I didn't do anything. no shutdown, no ejection, nothing. I just went to MB and the error message was there. Then a few days ago - nothing - nada. tried all the options in Disk Utility and it…

DO NOT BUY A WD PRODUCT!

This hard disk stopped working after 3 months. My computer still recognized it, but I kept getting errors and couldn't copy my files to it anymore. It probably worked a maximum of 5 times. Unfortunately, at that point the Revain return window was closed and I had to deal with WD. After insulting my intelligence and assuming the problem was me and not their faulty product, they informed me that they could not refund my money. The day it stopped working I had to buy a new backup hard drive…
