Description of emmakites UHMWPE Braided Cord: High Strength, Low Stretch for Camping, Hiking, Backpacking, and More

100% UHMWPE Braided Cord: 100~1000Lb high strength provided, hollow braid, spliceable for making whoopie slings, extra light. High adaption to wild outdoor environment, widely used as guy line, ridgeline for tent, tarp, rain fly and hammock, powerful cord at hand when camping, backpacking, survival, emergency, hunting, boating, etc. High Strength-to-weight Ratio! Made of 100% UHMWPE fiber (UHMWPE is known as different trade names, like dyneema, spectra by different manufacturers), yields highest strength in lightest weight, 15 times stronger than steel by weight. Holds greatest energy in lightest weight! Weighs much less than nylon and polyester cord, also much less bulkier, excellent for outdoor carry. LEAST STRETCH! Stretch annoys much in hauling, rigging and other applications. UHMWPE almost has no stretch under working load. This feature really does a great help in saving labors. TANGLE RESIST! Smooth to touch, slick to move on most surface and stiff. These features make line less tangle prone. No more tangling trouble during use and organization. We also have UHMWPE line wound in a spool to help well organize. LONG WEAR LIFE! UHMWPE is capable to resist intense abrasion and wear during use. With tight and firm braid, our UHMWPE line has a long service life for you! With low moisture absorbency, resistance to most chemicals, to UV, to severe abrasion and wear, our high strength UHMWPE line will do a lot of help for you in outdoor life and you'll find a great deal of applications out of it.

Exactly what I needed!

My order arrived quickly and was well packaged. I bought this to make canvas lines and ridge lines for hammock camping. This allowed me to connect fixed eyes and endless loops. See attached photos. I also added some Dutch bling for simplicity. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I will be happy to answer them.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Speed

It's not a cable or rope

it's very thin like a rope Incredibly strong but don't use it for things you need to hold by hand as it's the thickness of a copper telephone line. Wire (if any) I gave it 3 stars not because it's a bad product but more as described, it's closer to braided line than cord.

Pros
  • a good thing
Cons
  • reliability

Camping with my son.

I started hiking with my son a long time ago when he was in the Boy Scouts. I followed the advice of other dads on the squad by trying dymeena instead of paracord and I couldn't be happier. This material is thin, light and incredibly strong! I use it for a hammock sleep system and it's fantastic. I'm very glad I switched!

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Braided hose rope is very strong.

Bought to make whoopee lines. It works great! Very strong. It has very little tendency to become tangled in itself. BUT it is very smooth and knots are easy to untie. As expected, not very comfortable to knot due to the material. Holds up a bit but I haven't worked with Amsteel to compare. But worth the price for the amount per roll you get. I plan to buy more.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Actually used for kiteline

People seem to use this material for a variety of purposes. I actually use it for a four line parafoil bridle and line instead of more expensive brands of the same material (Dyneema or Spectra). I bought a 1mm (350lbs) and so far I've been able to make a loop without a knot at the end for a lark's head without too much trouble. I'll update this later when I break the line.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Unreliable

As advertised but finish works

This is a 12 strand cord. It's strong (didn't test the tensile strength on a scale) but it fits well and the endless loops and soft clips I made hold the hammock up well. The downside to this stuff is that if you just manipulate the rope with your hands or sync up a knot, you'll see the color fade in seconds. The red color quickly turned light pink. Don't worry about the color, but if you're concerned, look elsewhere.

Pros
  • High marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Out of style

Great handy rope for many sailboat tasks and needs.

I'm sure it's ok because it also has an intended use label. this is amazing for a general purpose sailboat. It connects easily and converts into everything from soft shackles to slings for your bow deck hammock. For lazy people without blocks. it is as elegant as the reeving sacrificial lines protecting the traps from UV light. Straps for your tools. and bind something to something else. It's worth noting that 500ft of this material is only slightly more expensive than 180ft Samson brand whips,

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Not bad

1.3mm/600lbs - decent cable, color faded

I bought this cable for outdoor use. Tensile strength and strength seem pretty good, although I haven't tested the claimed tear strength. I assumed it would be a black fiber cord. Instead, it appears to be colored. UHMWPE is not said to absorb paint very well and this line seems to be no exception. In the attached picture the top is in the color it was delivered. Midline – Relatively low exposure to water (<1 hour in running water). The bottom can be in the water for 3 or 4 hours. It has…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
