Why change a great product?!?

GU The recovery drink was fantastic. I felt my recovery was faster and I liked the taste. Then GU changed this product. It still helps with post-workout recovery, but the flavor is average at best. Too bad because I loved this product.

Bad taste, basic ingredients

I would not recommend this product at all. For starters, it's just whey protein with a small amount of L-glutamine. No BCAAs or other additives, which is why I think the mixture is overpriced. I was hoping this mix would taste like an old chocolate recovery drink (which tasted great), but again, it falls short. It tastes like chocolate on the front and a weird chemical acid on the back. Not good at all. Spend your money elsewhere, I will definitely do that

OK update but still prefer the old formula

I liked the previous Vanilla GU Restore Shake to start with and as I can't find it online anymore I decided to try this new formula. My husband and I tried this cocktail last weekend after our long 16/18 mile runs. The cocktail works - I believe it helps with recovery. In terms of taste, however, they completely missed the target. It tasted awful. I had to strangle him. I liked the taste of the old formula but this one doesn't work. Will not buy again and will probably switch to downwindโ€ฆ
