You may think a vacuum cleaner is a vacuum cleaner bag, but sometimes it isn't. I don't know why but they really stink when used. I wanted cheap bags because we had to change bags very quickly on some of our projects. They're definitely not the worst - they still hold most of the "things" we vacuum, but they definitely let the finer dust escape and escape with the smell. Huge price difference between branded product and "generic". The biggest difference between the original and generic is in the bag sealing mechanism, where it connects to the machine's dust collector. The regular bag uses a cardboard retaining ring and clasp, while the genuine Miele bag uses plastic. I really wish they had a cardboard liner instead of plastic. I have a Miele Olympus cylinder vacuum and no matter what I do I can't get these bags into the port properly when I close the lid. I even tried tearing off pieces of cardboard. The bags let debris into the unit and never fill (hold) as much as the 3M filter bags. Directly compared to the Miele bag I replaced they are of significantly lower quality. It doesn't say HEPA anywhere on the packaging, so I doubt it meets HEPA filtration standards. The closure of the Miele bag is made of rubber, creating a secure seal where the hose enters the bag; these bags do not have such a closure and the material is thinner overall. They work and probably hold more dust than regular vacuum bags, but they are NOT as good as Miele bags. It's a shame that Miele overprices…

I deducted a star for not receiving the advertised 'flavored pills' which was a small added value that motivated me to do so to choose that particular seller. But the bags themselves are good. They have a cardboard collar, not a plastic collar, but it works. I've also tried Filtrete, Crucial, Green Label, etc. They all work perfectly. After reading so many good reviews of these bags, I knew I couldn't go wrong with my new Mile Onyx, who is three months old.
