Upgrade from 1 to 5 stars!

ORIGINAL: Terrible, loud recording feedback with my Canon T3i, the connector does not fit properly. Sounds better on my smartphone, but still unusable. I'll be back. EDIT: Absolutely my fault for that. I set the camera's audio input to "Manual" but turned it up VERY high. You need to turn down the audio input to the lowest level and just go right a click or two. I tested it and my sound came out amazing. Sorry for the initial 1 star. For reference, this is the video I recorded with this mic on…

  • Finally bought it

Very good product. suitable for accessories

Very good product. I hook it up to my camcorder and it's loud, clear, low noise and warm. Gives a professional sound. worth your money. This is a very good product. I hate it when idiots call it "cheap" even though they like it and are trying to say something good about it. Cheap means something of poor quality, not something with great economy. Do you want the company to raise the price so people will stop calling it "cheap"? I wouldn't call a good inexpensive product "cheap", I would just say

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Damaged

Doesn't work with my Canon T2i. Strangely this works with my Mac (garageband). But it's about being able to connect directly to the camera to avoid syncing later. I tested it when I first got it on my computer. Should have tested the camera before the return date. Since it works with the computer when (microphone) toggles to 'smartphone/off' instead of 'camera', I'm hoping I might just have caught a dead battery device. I will update. Alright, here's an update. I got a new battery and it works…

Dead after one use

Purchased in August 2017. Immediately upon receipt I opened and tested the mic. Everything worked great. Good sound quality. I don't do much video work, but I needed a mic and didn't know if I needed a clip or directional mic. I ended up using the direction and putting that back in the bag for later. Never used again. until yesterday. He's been sitting undisturbed since I checked on him. Now it doesn't work at all. Not on the DSLR, not on my phone. Completely dead. Given that I haven't touched…

that's wonderful. It still picks up some background noise that .

Huge difference compared to using the built in mic on both a phone and a DSLR. Works great for its attractive price. It still picks up some background noise, which I don't want, but it doesn't matter because the voice of the person speaking into the mic is crystal clear. DSLR (Canon Rebel SL1) where they act as newscasters and deliver announcements to parents. They feel formal with this microphone and the voices of other children in the background no longer drown out their voices. It is…

Well, while it lasted!

I used this mic for about a year and then it mysteriously stopped working. Have tried new batteries and tried on different devices. It only works when connected to the input of a mixer. The only thing I can surmise is that one of the crew members left it on and it burned the power side of the system. I used it to record informational and instructional videos with a small Canon digital camcorder. The sound quality was pretty good for a mic for under $20. It was used as the violin microphone for…
